ourkithab — the website at ourkithab.com and the ourkithab mobile app — is built and maintained by MTEL Technology. This page explains what data ourkithab does and doesn't collect.

Data we collect: none

ourkithab doesn't require an account, doesn't use analytics or advertising SDKs, and doesn't collect, store, or share any personal information. Every feature — reading the Quran, listening to recitations, following the Quarter Juz curriculum, and checking prayer times — works without you providing any personal data.

What gets sent over the network

To display Quran text, translations, and audio recitations, ourkithab requests content by chapter and verse number from the Quran Foundation's public Content API. These requests identify which passage you're viewing, not who you are — no account, device identifier, or personal information is attached.

Prayer times are read from a dataset bundled directly inside the app (sourced from ACJU's published timetables) — looking them up involves no network request at all.

Notifications

If you turn on prayer-time reminders in the mobile app, the times are scheduled locally on your own device using Android's notification system. Nothing about this is sent to us or to anyone else.

Permissions the app requests

• Notifications — to alert you at prayer times, if you enable this.
• Exact alarms — so those reminders arrive on time rather than being delayed by the system.
• Boot — to re-schedule reminders after your device restarts.
• Internet — to fetch Quran text, translations, and audio.

Children's privacy

Because ourkithab collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children either.

Changes to this policy

If what ourkithab collects ever changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change accordingly.
