وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَهُمُ ٱلطُّورَ بِمِيثَـٰقِهِمْ وَقُلْنَا لَهُمُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ لَا تَعْدُوا۟ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُم مِّيثَـٰقًا غَلِيظًا

EnglishSaheeh International
And We raised over them the mount for [refusal of] their covenant; and We said to them, "Enter the gate bowing humbly"; and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the sabbath"; and We took from them a solemn covenant.

மேலும், அவர்களிடம் வாக்குறுதி வாங்கும் பொருட்டு, அவர்கள் மேல் தூர் (ஸினாய் மலையை) உயர்த்தினோம்;. இன்னும் 'இந்த வாசலில் தலை குனிந்து (தாழ்மையாக) நுழையுங்கள்' என்று சொன்னோம்;. மேலும் "(மீன் வேட்டையாடி) சனிக்கிழமையில் வரம்பு மீறாதீர்கள்" என்றும் அவர்களுக்கு கூறினோம்;. இன்னும் அவர்களிடமிருந்து மிக உறுதியான வாக்குறுதியும் வாங்கினோம்.

තවද ඔවුන්ගෙන් ප්‍රතිඥාවක් ගැනීම සඳහා තූර් කන්ද ඔවුනට ඉහළින් අපි ඔසවා තැබුවෙමු. තවද ‘හිස නමා දොරටුවෙන් ඇතුළු වනු’ යැයි අපි ඔවුනට පැවසුවෙමු. තවද ‘සෙනසුරාදා සීමාව ඉක්මවා නො යනු’ යැයි ද අපි ඔවුනට පැවසුවෙමු. තවද අපි ඔවුන්ගෙන් ඉතා බලවත් ප්‍රතිඥාවක් ගත්තෙමු.

اور ان کا قول لینے کے لئے ہم نے ان کے سروں پر طور پہاڑ ﻻ کھڑا کردیا اور انہیں حکم دیا کہ سجده کرتے ہوئے دروازے میں جاؤ اور یہ بھی فرمایا کہ ہفتہ کے دن میں تجاوز نہ کرنا اور ہم نے ان سے سخت سے سخت قول وقرار لئے۔

それからかれらと約束するに当たり,(シナイ)山をかれらの頭上に持ち上げ,「謙虚にこの門に入れ。」とかれらに告げ,また「安息日の戒めに背いてはならない。」と言って,われはかたい約束をかれらからとった。

为与他们缔约,我曾把山高耸在他们的上面,我曾对他们说:你们应当鞠躬而入城门。我又对他们说:你们在安息日不要超过法度。 我曾与他们缔结一个严重的盟约。

Tafsir of 4:154

The Stubbornness of the Jews Muhammad bin Ka`b Al-Qurazi, As-Suddi and Qatadah said that the Jews asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to cause a book to come down to them from heaven, just as the Tawrah was sent down to Musa. Ibn Jurayj said that the Jews asked the Messenger to cause books to come down to them addressed to so-and-so among them, testifying to the truth of what he was sent with. The Jews only asked for this because of their stubbornness, defiance, rejection and disbelief. The disbelievers of Quraysh also asked for similar things from the Prophet, as is mentioned in Surat Al-Isra', وَقَالُواْ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّى تَفْجُرَ لَنَا مِنَ الاٌّرْضِ يَنْبُوعًا (And they say: "We shall not believe in you, until you cause a spring to gush forth from the earth for us;) (17:90) Allah said, فَقَدْ سَأَلُواْ مُوسَى أَكْبَرَ مِن ذلِكَ فَقَالُواْ أَرِنَا اللَّهِ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْ (Indeed, they asked Musa for even greater than that, when they said, "Show us Allah in public," but they were struck with a bolt of lightning for their wickedness.) injustice, transgression, defiance and rebellion.…
