إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَـٰنٍ ۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى ٱلْأَنفُسُ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ

EnglishSaheeh International
They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allāh has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance.

இவையெல்லாம் வெறும் பெயர்களன்றி வேறில்லை, நீங்களும் உங்கள் மூதாதையர்களும் வைத்துக் கொண்ட வெறும் பெயர்கள்! இதற்கு அல்லாஹ் எந்த அத்தாட்சியும் இறக்கவில்லை, நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் வீணான எண்ணத்தையும், தம் மனங்கள் விரும்புபவற்றையுமே பின் பற்றுகிறார்கள், எனினும் நிச்சயமாக அவர்களுடைய இறைவனிடமிருந்து, அவர்களுக்கு நேரான வழி வந்தே இருக்கிறது.

ඒවා නුඹලා හා නුඹලාගේ මුතුන් මිත්තන් ඒවාට නම් තැබූ (හිස් අර්ථ) නාමයන් මිස වෙනකක් නැත. ඒවා පිළිබඳ කිසිදු සාධකයක් අල්ලාහ් පහළ නො කළේ ය. ඔවුහු අනුමානය හා සිත් ආශා කරන දෑ මිස වෙනෙකක් අනුගමනය නො කරති. ඔවුන්ගේ පරමාධිපතිගෙන් ඔවුන් වෙත සැබැවින් ම යහමග පැමිණ ඇත.

دراصل یہ صرف نام ہیں جو تم نے اور تمہارے باپ دادوں نے ان کے رکھ لیے ہیں اللہ نے ان کی کوئی دلیل نہیں اتاری۔ یہ لوگ تو صرف اٹکل کے اور اپنی نفسانی خواہشوں کے پیچھے پڑے ہوئے ہیں۔ اور یقیناً ان کے رب کی طرف سے ان کے پاس ہدایت آ چکی ہے.

Tafsir of 53:23

Refuting Idolatry, Al-Lat and Al-`Uzza Allah the Exalted rebukes the idolators for worshipping idols and taking rivals to Him. They built houses for their idols to resemble the Ka`bah built by Prophet Ibrahim, Allah's Khalil. أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ اللَّتَ (Have you then considered Al-Lat,) Al-Lat was a white stone with inscriptions on. There was a house built around Al-Lat in At-Ta'if with curtains, servants and a sacred courtyard around it. The people of At-Ta'if, the tribe of Thaqif, and their allies worshipped Al-Lat. They would boast to Arabs, except the Quraysh, that they had Al-Lat. Ibn Jarir said, "They derived Al-Lat's name from Allah's Name, and made it feminine. Allah is far removed from what they ascribe to Him. It was reported that Al-Lat is pronounced Al-Lat because, according to `Abdullah bin `Abbas, Mujahid, and Ar-Rabi` bin Anas, Al-Lat was a man who used to mix Sawiq (a kind of barley mash) with water for the pilgrims during the time of Jahiliyyah.…
