قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ

EnglishSaheeh International: They said, "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
TamilJan Trust Foundation: "நாங்கள் மரித்து மண்ணாகவும் எலும்புகளாகவும் ஆகிவிட்டாலுமா நாங்கள் நிச்சயமாக எழுப்பப்படுவோம்?" என்று அவர்கள் கூறினார்கள்.
SinhalaRuwwad Center: අපි මියගොස් පස් හා අස්ථි බවට පත් වූ විට නියත වශයෙන් ම අපි නැවත නැගිටුවනු ලබන්නෙමු දැ? යි ඔවුහු විමසූවෝ ය.

JapaneseRyoichi Mita: かれらは言う。「わたしたちが死んで土と骨になった時，本当に甦らされるだろうか。
ChineseMa Jian: 他们说：我们死后，已变成尘埃和朽骨的时候，难道我们还必定要复活吗？

Tafsir of 23:82

وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ (And indeed We seized them with punishment,) means, `We tried and tested them with difficulties and calamities.' His saying: فَمَا اسْتَكَانُواْ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ (but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke with submission to Him.) means, that did not deter them from their disbelief and resistance, rather they persisted in their sin and misguidance, فَمَا اسْتَكَانُواْ (but they humbled not themselves) وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ (nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. ) they did not call on Him.…
