Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 46

أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَآ أَوْ ءَاذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۖ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُ وَلَـٰكِن تَعْمَى ٱلْقُلُوبُ ٱلَّتِى فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ

EnglishSaheeh International
So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts.

அவர்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்து (இவற்றைப்) பார்க்கவில்லையா? (அவ்வாறு பார்த்திருந்தால்) அவர்களுக்கு விளங்கிக் கொள்ளக்கூடிய உள்ளங்களும், (நல்லவற்றைச்) செவியேற்கும் காதுகளும் உண்டாகியிருக்கும், நிச்சயமாக (புறக்) கண்கள் குரடாகவில்லை எனினும், நெஞ்சக்குள் இருக்கும் இதயங்கள் (அகக் கண்கள்) தாம் குருடாகின்றன.

ඔවුහු මහපොළොවේ ගමන් කළ යුතු නො වේ ද? එසේ (ගමන් කළේ නම්) එමඟින් වටහා ගත හැකි සිත් හා එමඟින් සවන් දිය හැකි කන් ඔවුනට පිහිටනු ඇත. නිසැකවම දෘෂ්ඨීන් අන්ධ නො වෙයි. එහෙත් හදවත් තුළ ඇති සිත් අන්ධ වෙයි.

کیا انہوں نے زمین میں سیر وسیاحت نہیں کی جو ان کے دل ان باتوں کے سمجھنے والے ہوتے یا کانوں سے ہی ان (واقعات) کو سن لیتے، بات یہ ہے کہ صرف آنکھیں ہی اندھی نہیں ہوتیں بلکہ وه دل اندھے ہو جاتے ہیں جو سینوں میں ہیں.

难道他们没有在大地上旅行,因而有心可以了解,或者有耳可以听闻吗?因为肉眼不盲,胸中的心眼却盲了。

Tafsir of 22:46

The Consequences for the Disbelievers Here Allah consoles His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for the disbelief of those among his people who opposed him. وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ (And if they deny you, so did deny before them the people of Nuh) until His saying, وَكُذِّبَ مُوسَى (and denied was Musa.) means, despite all the clear signs and evidence that they brought. فَأمْلَيْتُ لِلْكَفِرِينَ (But I granted respite to the disbelievers for a while,) means, `I delayed and postponed.' ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ (then I seized them, and how (terrible) was My punishment!) means, `how great was My vengeance against them and My punishment of them!' In the Two Sahihs it is reported from Abu Musa that the Prophet said: «إِنَّ اللهَ لَيُمْلِي لِلظَّالِمِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَخَذَهُ لَمْ يُفْلِتْه» (Allah lets the wrongdoer carry on until, when He seizes him, He will never let him go.) Then he recited: وَكَذلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَى وَهِىَ ظَلِمَةٌ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُ أَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ (Such is the punishment of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are doing wrong.…
